Yea, it's gonna be laughable I'm sure. Which is why I would love to see a 13.5. Lol but if I can drive half decent I should be able to click that off. My issue is I suck at doing burnouts. Lol and I'm sure it's gonna be even worse with slicks.

See, I f'ing kick *** at burnouts, but then when you roll up to the line for your first time...with approx 1,000 people there, your legs tends to shake a lil bit LOL

^^ trust me around here anyways there is an abundance of other people making fools out of themselves, especially on a friday night test and tune.

just go have fun, I rock a relatively slow car but still have a blast everytime out.

oh yeah the original question... I have about 25 passes on my tires new this year and they have maybe worn 25% of the tread off. I do about a 5-6 second burnout, and launch at 4,500 rpm.

The embarassing part comes when you miss 3rd gear the first few times you are not used to running your car that hard. A car with any exhaust at all the whole track hears you hit the rev limiter.

Just remember on the stock 2V you will actually run slower if you run it the rev limiter before shifting. My car makes the best passes shifting around 5,500-5,700 rpm.

Slicks are ridiculously easy to do a burnout when they are wet. I can start letting the clutch out at idle in 2nd gear and easily get them rolling after passing through the waterbox.

Torque boxes are not so crucial in the IRS car as they are not the actual mounting point for the control arms. But they should still be reinforced. But I think I should be fine.

Also when I shift, it will be at or around 5400. There is no point in going any higher.

Do yourself a favor and go buy a pair of V6 wheels to keep the slicks on. The money you'll spend swapping tires would pay for the wheels and then some. There are V6 wheels all over yards. Plus mounting and dismounting can tear beads, and that would pay for the wheels as well haha.

EDIT: oh and that's not to mention the pain in the *** of dragging tires and wheels around to the shop every 6 months.

These are going on v6 wheels already. Lol but I see what you're saying. These are being kept at my parents house so I'm trying to minimize the amount of crap I have. But I think I might try to find another pair of them.
