Well, I had to swap 2 wires on the harness going into the back of the cluster. One of the wires was for the temp sensor, I cant remember what the other was for anymore. Why ford changed the pins on the cluster between 96-98 I will never know.

But yeah, the speedo reads the same as my GT's did. It reads as correct as it will with 3:73's installed

Not meaning to hijack this thread, just wanted to keep an eye on it as my temp gauge does the same thing after the gauge swap I watch my temp through Recon now, so it just has not been a big enough issue for me to post about yet.

Ok i was just wondering if it was a direct swap and the speedo was correct considering the max mph readout from 150mph to 170mph on the cobra

Wolvee if I figure it out I'll let ya know. The gauge shows hot but they checked coolant temp.Idle was 190-200 after I took it for a short drive.Highest it registered was 214 pretty much at WOT.I don't like seeing the needle that high but as long as she doesn't overheat I'll be fine.Even with the AC on the needle only rose a little.I am very pleased how it turned out.So much more HP and TQ than the old 2V.Prob shouldv'e bought a Cobra to begin with.Wouldv'e been cheaper in the long run.Hey Uber how much more do I have to do to my car before I'm allowed to put cobra badges on it?LMAO

one way to fix the gauge, pull it apart and position the needle a little farther to the left

lol, I was doing a little more research yesterday, and it looks like there may have been more than just 1 wire that needed to be moved. If I have time I am going to tear into it this weekend. There are actually 3 wires that control the gas/temp gauges. If I find something, I will post it up here.
