Default HELP!! EGR plug/cap size??

hi i deleted my egr and switched to FMS shorty headers, does anyone know the size and dimensions of the a egr cap/plug for the hole in manifold that i can buy? and where can i buy it? dont tell me homedepot/lowes cause i spent 2-3 days and HOURS going back and forth finding the right one and no luck.

If I remember its a 1/2 inch or 3/8 brass cap plug, got mine from lowes, plumbing isle.

Just curious says you have a fresh cobra with a t70 setup, but the pic is clearly a 2v.

thanks ill try both, mine needs a plug (male) so the sizes should still the same correct?

uberstang: i edited it, i meant built cobra shortblock (.020 over, arp everything, xtreme pistons, etc)

ok so i tried both.

3/8 is waaay to small. it fell right through the hole and needed to fish it out with a magnet.

1/2 is not the right thread for that hole but the diameter is pretty close. Could it be A/N size?

Remember as said above it is a brass cap plug in the plumbing aisle, it is NPT (national pipe threads)not standard bolt threads.

Default Actual EGR tap size

I have a '97 Ford 4.6L SOHC and I'm 99% sure the tap on the exhaust manifold is tapped for a M22x1.5 tread. I'm also looking for a plug - have not found one yet. Let me know if you do.
