HELP what hood should i get
so i need some help deciding what hood i should get for my car the car is getting repainted and i want to do a new hood at the same time
vis carbon fiber hood
kaenen 95 cobra r- 5 inch
h.o. fibertrends 2 1/2 inch
h.o. fibertrends 4 inch
vis carbon fiber hood

I HAVE a ViS 3" Carbon Fiber hood and Like it alot. Looks great on black and Grey mustangs.
The only reason I went wth a carbon Fiber hood is because I saved money from having to get a Fiberglass hood painted Black and Carbon Fiber doesnt look bad at all on black stangs..

Well this serves a purpose I need one that will get the heat out of my engine bay the blower gets way to hot and heat soak like crazy. Also I am thinking about getting the blow by racing meth plate for the 2.8h which will add 3/4 to 1 inch to the height of the blower which is really close to my stock hood so I kind of need the hood not just for looks.

Use meth to reduce the air temps. A large cowl hood won't stop your air temps from getting high. It is a function of compressing air.
Tall cowl hoods look terrible of street cars (my opinion). Get the lowest hood that will clear your set-up.
Looks like the consensus from the votes so far is to stay away from the tall hoods.

Cowl hoods are actually EXCELLENT at getting the hot air out of the engine compartment. The Hot air escapes quickly through the open cowl. When im stopped at a red light I can seen the heat waves leaving the cowl. Cool stuff.
I recommend the ViS 3" Cowl Carbon Fiber hood for you.. after thought, I think it would look good on your blue cobra!
