Default To IRS or Not to IRS

Okay so I know others have discussed it in the past in a power setting, and such.

So i've heard about the problems were people in cobras are snapping there IRS trying to drag them with over 500hp.

But what about IRS on a Mach 1 used for autocross, cornering handling, etc. Give me your input, what u recommend, past mistakes, horror stories, etc.

Do a quick search of these forums, you'll see quite a few people running IRS's in their cars. A few are handling enthusiasts. I have a decent suspension setup with an IRs and feel it handles just as well as my SRA with ta/phb setup and rides much better than when I had my SRA.

I at one point was going to swap in the '99+ Cobra IRS but have since decided that though it is a good set-up, it is by no means a optimal designed IRS. I've since decided to build my '98's SRA via a Torque Arm & Pan Hard Bar from MM.

Thought I do want an IRS I believe I'll wait for the '14's proposed 4th gen Control blade IRS. Its lighter and overall a better design. Come hell or high water I'll have a 2014 SVT.
