Default Thinking about painting my stock Starfish wheels.

Originally I assumed everybody on here would hate the idea of painting my stock wheels, but I did my due diligence and searched around on here and found 2 other guys who tried it and got some nice results and just about everybody seemed to like them.

Now I know everybody's first thought is, new aftermarket wheels would look better...but most people seemed to like it as a cheapo alternative while saving cash for the new wheels.

By now many of you know my plans to add some yellow to the convertible to make it more my style. And I've already been cautioned about over doing it.

See, I don't want to paint my wheels all black like the other guys. I don't think I'll like the look of all black starfish wheels on my black convertible. Even on the aftermarket black bullitt's I like the ones with chrome on the rim better than the all black.

I was thinking of sticking with my black and yellow theme and just doing the inner "star" black..and making the horses yellow. I'd leave all the rest stock alloy. I'm at work and can't upload a picture of my idea, but I think I can paste it as an attatchment. If the attachment works check it out and give me your thoughts.

Ok...I thought I'd run this one by you guys also:

But the attachment was the original.

I think all black with a yellow line (like the red lines you see) would look kinda cool and different.
I wouldnt do the horse yellow, kinda looks out of place.
Plus everyone knows its a Mustang

I was thinking of a yellow pinstripe.

So do you think the horse looks tacky? I was just wanting to accent what I'll be doing with the rocker stripes on the wheels. I thought the horse looked kinda cool. I dunno. That's why I'm looking for feedback. I don't want to post pictures of my car in a month or two once it's all done and have everyone making fun of me

Yes..Black can be power coated.
I agree with Uberstang, Power coating is much better than paint and can withstand more over paint.
If you go with stripe, that can be painted on.

Guessing average cost is about 75-100 a wheel ? If wheels are prepped and cleaned already.
Tommy.. do you have any curb rash on those rims?

How much did it cost you per wheel?
