Well, technically all cars come with an intake. lol I don't understand what you mean about coming from Ford direct with a intake? I know about just dropping in a good filter and removing the silencer. My first Mustang was a 99 GT so Im curious as to what you mean.

op as for a mod i would get a tuner either way, its gonna help you in the future, youll see more gains when u add more parts, plus youre gonna need one eventually if u plan on gears

he means that the intakes on our cars are just as good as a cai, only a tiny degree difference in temps.

+1, I didn't think of that. Op, go with a tuner. Save up for gears or f/i.
