Fuel mileage
#21
I used to calculate my gas mileage but I never fill all the way up now cause it's painful to see how few miles I get per tank. Plus it makes it seem like I'm spending less by only putting in $20-25 at a time

I get a consistent 23-24 mpgs and I have 4.10 gears. I run at 2500-2700 rpms down the highway too and still get at least 23 every time. Its all about how you drive, roll stop signs when you can watch ahead when coming to a light intersection so that you can catch the green light and don't accerate to hard. I use these things when driving my daiyl driver which is a 2000 jeep cherokee sport which is noturious for bad mpgs and get 23 mpgs out of every tank with it.
No need to get bitchy, you ask people for their opinions you are going to get them. HELLO it is a public forum ask questions and you may or may not get the answer you want. A waste of time is whining about 2-3 mpg over what other people state.
Where do you even live, altitude can be a big factor in mpg, humidity, temp, fuel quality, driving habits, tires, 100's of things affect fuel economy.

I live in Jersey. I use nothing but shell Vpower and I don't stomp on the gas hard, I shift at 2100 or so depending on gear. When I say 23mpg I mean that's all I get all highway, not going WOT or any city driving. I pulled a 300 or so mile round trip to Carlise and still only got 23 straight highway.

Jersey, so it's filled for me, but they let it click off and don't top it off. I've calculated probably over 100 tanks and I get about 250 miles or so to about 1/3 way down on the gauge. 23mpg seems to be what the car gets. I take the miles I drove divided by the gallons that went in. How else would you calculate it? haha

It probably helps your mileage because you're not carrying so much gas weight around.

My 99 GT (t-45) with 4.10's and burning oil gets between 25-26 on the trip to work.
30 miles on one highway, then 210 miles across Ohio on the Turnpike.
I cruise 71-74 mph, with the occasional 60mph in construction zones. I turn abour 26xx-27xx rpm the whole way.
If I drove 55mph (exactly 2000 rpm) the whole way I would expect 27-28 mpg

16 to 17 city and 25 to 27mpg highway with a little playing and no ac use. 3.73 gears and a centri. With an auto. Calculations done driving from tx to ga. Not a thing wrong with wanting to get the best mpg out of your car even if it is a stang. And my 96 t bird gets about the same highway mileage as the stang. Just a lil less in the city with the 4.6 bird.
