Default Reccomend me a clutch

So, I've been thinking about selling my mustang for the last year now because I don't really drive it, I'm about to graduate college and move away from home, and realistically it's not at all practical for my needs. But, after thinking about it for a while now, and having a few friends and family members talk me out of it, it looks like I'm going to keep it . Annndddd... the mod bug bite me again...

My car transmission makes rattle/grinding noise staggered throughout each gear. It makes the noise when the clutch is disengaged and the throttle is. It happens regardless of how hard I get on it and makes it through every gear. The car shifts smooth as butter. I don't think it's the clutch, but rather a throwout bearing or pressure plate? Maybe something else? I'm not a transmission wizard.... I had my dad listen to the noise and he "doesn't hear it", but my girlfriend hears it and thinks the car is going to fly apart every time.

Anyways, I'm thinking about upgrading and doing a clutch kit. If you guys have any ideas what might be causing the problem, I'd be very interested in hearing what you have to say. I may try to get the noise on video when I get home in a week.

The car is primarily driven on the street, spiritedly. Depending on the lifespan of my '98 Grand Cherokee , it may see DD duty again. I would love to get into some light auto x. I have no problem dealing with a "high performance" clutch in a DD. As for power of the car, it won't be seeing any f/i or giggle juice in it's lifetime. Recommend me a clutch kit. Thanks.

I just broke in my Ram Hdx clutch and I love it. Its a little stiffer than stock and is very affordable.

Why on earth do you need a spec stage 3+?! that's a heavy clutch for a stock gt...

So, buy a centerforce clutch from lethal performance?

Any ideas on what is wrong with the car? I'm curious.

edit: Since Teej got me in trouble, my gf had some strong influential points that were a deciding factor on keeping the mustang.

Well if its a constant what sounds like gears moving, its the STS making noise because they are noisier than stock. If you wait a couple days until after your back in Carlisle, I'll come up and give you my input then. But yea, DF clutch from lethal is what I'd be going with for your goals.

I may have to drive down there and let your take a listen. It's rather odd because it will make it from like 2500 rpm to 2850 rpm in first and then like 2850 to 3150 in 2nd and so on.

You can come down, I can come up, dont matter much to me mang. But we'll chill when you get back and I'll check out the noise then. Guess you'll be home sometime soon right?
