4.10's vs 4.30's
I've been wanting 4.30's for a while now but I think I found a bomb ass deal on some 4.10's. Should I just go big or go home? So 4.30's or 4.10's? This is for a daily driven car...

4.30s

imo 4.30's are useless unless you have cams or some type of motor that will rev to 6500. I just went from 3.73's to 4.10's and it's more than enough for a dd. at 70mph I'm at around 2800rpm. with 4.10's and a 26" tire I should be able to get up to 113 in 3rd gear which is good for the nitrous. however with 4.30's i'd be limited to about 107. so since i cant really rev over 6k i'll stick with 4.10's.

4.10s or bust on a 2v
I'd only recommend higher on a car capable of ~7000rpms for obvious reasons stated above |
unless your go to the strip all the time and are worried about hitting the rev limiter... 4.30s all day.
|
Since it's daily driven as well, i'd go with the 4.10's personally.
|
4.10's. Only reason to go higher is if you're planning a monster of an n/a engine and will need the gear.
|
I really wanted 4.30s in my car but they don't make an exact speedo correction gear... you would have no problem because its electronic... just buy 4.10s give 2 me... profit?
because racecar. |
Aren't you getting a T56 soon? If so, 4.30s x 23409345834598349583495835498549%

I have 4:10s in my 2V GT and hate them .
I would love to swap them for 3:55 but I dont want to pull the axle apart. I just rebuilt it:( If there was someone in my area that wanted to do a swap I would consider it if their axle was as good condiction as mine. I darg race with my GT and the gears are killing me in 1\4 mile trapping at 98 mph, very poor trap speed |
