Default Cowl hood too big?

I have been looking for a cowl hood and came across this one. I was looking for a 2.5, but this one is 4. Thought it might be a good buy, but may look too big. I have a friend who can paint it for cheap so that would save me a few. New hoods shipped are running around $550 from HO Fibertrends plus paint. Thoughts?

That's a lot of hood, more than I would personally put on a car (unless it was necessary) but if you like it go for it, It is a good looking hood. A 2.5 is straight up sexy though... and I would definitely try to talk him down a bit, just b/c its craigslist haha

Sorta like Machracer said, I would really only ever go 2.5"... max 3" hood for aesthetic reasons. If you're rockin' a 4" cowl, it better be for a good reason, IMO.

Yeah after looking at it some more it is a bit much. Lines run all the way to the tip of the hood. My search continues for a 2.5. Thanks guys!

Wolvee had a big one on his vert. A necessary one. I thought it looked good but I think it was a R hood.

Yeah definitely stick with 2.5", with a 4" I feel like I can't see out of my windshield. I wouldn't do a 4" on a street car, plus it's illegal on the street so it's asking for trouble... just my o2.

Decided against it, way too big. If I do get one I will let you know.
