Default Tips on buying

Hi guys, I've recently been looking into getting a mustang. I found one in the classifieds that fits what I want. It's a 2003 Mustang GT V8 with a 5 speed manual. It has a bit under 60000miles on it. I plan to go look at it tomorrow, but I don't want to go in uninformed.

My Dakota R/T for instance is notorious for ball joints, control arm bushings, and leaky intake manifold. Also notorious for weak transmissions, ask my how I know and why I'm looking at a mustang now. haha

So, any hot points I should take a peak at?

Take it for a test drive and listen for any wining from the rear end (humming sound).
Make sure the clutch feels good along with the tranni.
Open up the hood and see how the engine bay looks and see if you can hear any ticking or something odd you would not like hearing period while its idling.
Carfax, was it in any little accidents?

Little things like this will help you out.

Thats kinda low miles, Drive with windows down so you can hear everything. check all gears, turn wheel lock to lock at a stand still listen for clunks. Useuly just by looking at the engine bay, all the wiring and fittings you can see id stuff has been taken apart or replaced.

your gonna take a chance whenever you buy a car to be honest. **** just happens you could buy it and like 10k downt the road start having problems with it. Its all dependant on the way it was driven and mantained. As far as common problems the biggest one would be the intake cracking because its a piece of plastic...

actually, halfway thru 2001, the intake was remanufactured. the components that were prone to cracking were replaced with reinforced aluminum brackets, therefore cracking should not be an issue on a 03 gt. most kinks were worked out for 01.5-04. as stated before listen to the rear end for whining or clunking noises.

Drive it, if it doesn't overheat or make noises buy it, not much you can really do. A used car is a used car.

I bought it, this is my very first Mustang. I'm pretty excited. It's also my very first manual tranny. Haha, I just hope I figure it out before I burn up the clutch. And no, I'm not a teenager, I'm 23. Anyway, here's some pictures.

The dealer is repainting the bumper and hood

It has magnaflow mufflers and tips. Is that stock?

yellow top optima, accel coils, and Those fuel rails don't quite look stock, I have no idea if they are or not though
