Default 2002 Mustang GT

Hey Guys, I'm new to this forum and I decided I'm going to put some money into my 2002.

I am the original owner of the car, it has exactly 1000 miles on it garage kept.
My new 5.0 has way more miles then the 2002.

I just have a couple questions.

Since the 2002 Is a SOHC are there any cams out there for the car without building anything?

My second question is how wide tires can I put on the car with rolling my fenders.

And Lastly what is the difference of the 2v and 4v motor? Witch one is better?

Thanks guys =)

1k miles on it??? WOW.. good find

Unsure on your Cam question... There are many options on cams you can run with the stock motor.

You want to know, AFTER you roll your fenders how wide can the tire get? I have 315/35/17's M/T Et's For a DD right now...

On my Race starts i had 315/55/15 (i think, the height was 55) and they rubbed... Too tall. Going to roll my fenders soon. Kinda wasted $500, Shredded my Et streets to nothing..

I have a 2004 gt with 60k on it , and as far as i know the 2 valve 4.6 is a double overhead cam. A 4 valve motor breaths better revs higher and produces more high rpm hp. Since your 2002 is garage kept can you post pics, i'm amazed to hear you kept the car so long without driving it much...

If you want cams that you can just drop in, without upgrading valve springs, and that will work really well with the stock motor, then check out Modular Head Shop. I have their stage 2 cams, and they loose no power down low, make good power up top, and have a nice choppy idle.

If i'm not mistaken about the widest tire you can go without rolling the fenders is around a 315. At least if your around the stock diameter. If you run a taller tire that might change things.

I'll get some pictures asap. New to this forums so yeah.
I found the Comp Cams Stage 1 Xtreme Energy Any good? I want that cam sound, but not loud just a little choppy. As for Daily driver manageable.

And any opinions of the Magnaflow MagnaPack Catback Exhaust and
Magnaflow Catted True-X X-Pipe.

its Single Overhead Cam (SOHC). It does have two cams, sure, but its one on each head, only if it had two on each head would it be considered Double Overhead Cam (DOHC). typically, at least from what i've seen, Ford only makes gas-burning motors w/ DOHC when it's paired w/ a 4v configuration. even the s197 3v motors are SOHC.

dude w/ only 1k on the motor, you still got some breakin in to do! get that engine to at least 5k miles (with easy, non-high-rev driving) before doing anything to it.

The stage 1 Comp cams are decent overall, but it depends on your goals really.

I personal vote mhs stage 2 or cms stage 1 N/A cams like mrt said, they give your car a cam sound to it and gives decent power too.
