Looks to me like its a GT dressed up to look like a cobra. That engine is just a regular 4.6L 2V (GT engine) and not the supercharged 4.6L 4V. And thats also a GT hood. Probably why the price was so low.

Then I'm taking a walk from it. If I get a GT, I want a GT. Not one dressed up to look like a Cobra.

sounds super sketch to me... i mean how does a dealer not know its not a cobra?? don't they hafta do a VIN lookup?? also, what 80+ year old man would swap all that cosmetic stuff, especially on the interior?? it may have been REGISTERED to an 80+ yr old man for insurance purposes, but i guarantee you his grandson tore that sh*t up...

that doesn't compensate for all the other worn components.. also, 2000+ f250 7.3L's sell around here, with less than 250k, some with less than 200k, for less than $10k from dealers. seems very odd (to me) that they'd pay you $10k for it. buddy of mine picked up a 2001 in pretty good condition all around with under 175k almost two years ago for less than $8500... just sayin, that seems weird. i'd remain skeptical abt that as well

That's exactly what my father said. He told me to back off of it and just to keep looking. He even found a nice 04 GT Vert for a decent price. More than I'd like to pay but I can always try and talk them down. I'm just going to keep my eyes open.

Region has a lot to do with car sales. Where a F250 would be used for joy riding, say in a city, it probably wouldn't sell for much. I live in a farming town. A 01 with under 175k miles would sell for around 14k here. The KBB on mine is still a little over 9k. You get up into the 6.0L's (late 2003 to late 2006) and they can cost you anywhere from 15k clean up to 21k for a four wheel drive.
