Default fitment of 17x9 and 17x10.5

I'm finally ready to order wheels and tires. This is the best deal I've found. http://www.latemodelrestoration.com/...Wheel-Tire-Kit

I plan to do a cobra brake upgrade soon as well, I should have no problem with the 17s. I just want to make sure I wouldn't have any tire rub. Nittos specs are a 11" wide front and a 12.5" rear. Thanks for any input.

This is the brake kit i found.

Has anyone used the power slot rotors?

I have 17x9 17x10.5 with nittos. I do rub a little bit at a full lock u turn, but thats honestly because the car is so low, not because of the wheel fitment. You'll love the 315s out back.

Have you thought about a DR out back? I don't much care for those wheel/tire packs even though this one is better than others. They just really aren't a "deal". I did 4 wheels and tires of my choice for the same price and I used better tires than 555s IMO.

With it being my dd I don't want a DR, I can get discounts threw my work on some tires, I have to see what all they have. I'm not set on nittos, but i have never heard bad about the 555 other than there not a DR.

You can have BETTER braking than the Cobra kit you plan, by just upgrading your pads, fluid and SS lines. Your looking at about $350 and is far cheaper than the Cobra upgrade with BETTER stopping power.

Save some coin and peep Brakes Upgrade thread (sig)

Or you can visit my sticky and get 03 cobra brakes on all four corners with stainless lines for right around 600-650 if all the pricing has remained unchanged.

If the brakes are capable of locking-up the wheels (or trigger the ABS) the ONLY issues left are those created by heat.

You do premium fluid, pads and SS lines with Cobra brakes, you won't necessarily stop better, but will have a bit better cooling and a small mechanical advantage. I had originally installed a set of '03 Cobra brakes out back and was unable to feel any real difference. Due to this mechanical advantage, they MUST have been better, but nothing of which I could quantify by "seat of the pants feel".

Remember, the brakes are ONLY as good as the tires and are not distinguishable from OEM once they lock up or trigger the ABS. As mentioned, the mechanical advantage of a larger rotor is helpful for pedal feel and some cooling. But, on the street, there should never be a need for such cooling, as you would have to be using poor braking techniques to get there. If one was to be running the open-track all the time, a full-set of Cobra brakes would only get you a short bit further and then would need to either add cooling or upgrade to race brakes to address the issues of heat.

With all this said, install the upgrades in my guide on BOTH sets of brakes on two different cars identical in every other way..... I am willing to bet you both stop within at nearly the same location if not the same. If the extra $$$ is worth it for this and/or the visual upgrade, go for it
