If there's some sort of damage then wet sand it with 3000 grit, then buff and polish.
I would assume to get it to look just right you'd eventually have to have it repainted.

I LOVE the rear end of the New Edge's. I don't know, I always liked the fact that they had a "fatass" look to them. One of the coolest rear ends on a car, and the design of it came out 13 years ago and it's still appealing.
To me, the only real eyesore is having that FORD blue oval logo on the back. It really looks out of place with the rest of the car.

It ALL depends on how much money you are willing to spend to improve the appearance.
I'd recommend the following:
315s on 10.5 wheels
remove the factory spoiler
3.5" or 4" rolled stainless tips
if money is still available:
tint on tails and windows
lower it about 1.5"
IRS looks sweet with the exhaust that goes with it
Eibach sway bars are nicely visible under the rear
