Default Finally Got the Rims/Tires I wanted

Well, about a year and a half ago I found a guy locally that had some 18x9's black FR500's with tires for 200$ so I jumped at the chance. I ended up getting those and putting them on the rear of my car and putting some 17x9's up front. Over the past 6 months the tread on my rear tires has been down to the wear bars and I was needing some new tires. So, I had been looking on Craiglist about once a week trying to find someone with some 17x10.5's with a decent set of tires. I ended up lucking out and finding a guy about 160miles away with a pair of 17x10.5 black FR500's with around 20 miles on the tires. The best part is the tires are Nitto 555R 315/35/17 (basically exactly what I wanted). So I ended up buying them for 400$ (About 50$ cheaper than what it would have cost me to put some Nitto's on my 18's) and now I can just sell my 18's and recoup about half of my money. So, after about a year and a half I finally have the tires and rims that I originally wanted.

I haven't been to the track in about 9 months and as such, haven't had a decent tire on my car for a long time. I had almost forgotten what it was like to actually hook. Don't get me wrong, most days I could hook decently from a 40 roll if the road was decent, but 1st gear has always been useless on the street. I punched it from 10mph in 1st gear and just hooked... I'm glad that I can finally get some street races from a dig now.

Edit: Totally unrelated to cars, but I did just recently buy my first house with my wife. We are super pumped about it :-)

Yeah definitely. I will take some in the next day or two. I'm just glad I can actually drive around with traction now. Hated having cars just blow by me because I could do nothing but spin if I actually got on it.

I feel your pain. My old street tires were the same deal. Being able to use first feels pretty awesome.

I can't imagine the amount of pain and suffering that caused you.... I mean, that's a terrible thing not to have! Lol

You have no idea sir, no idea. LOL I have actually been racing a SL63 AMG and lost traction around 90mph... It seriously gets frustrating to have a fast car but not be able to put the power to the ground.
