Default Opinions on the new FIT system?

Anyone have any opinions of that new FIT system? Looks like a pretty sweet setup. Jazzer, Teej, any of you other suspension know it alls? Anyone else? The mags seemed to rave about it. Just curious on what others think.

Might be alright if you are running extreme twisty action, but like above that adds a lot of weight. Good quality subframes welded in will be perfect for 99% of cars. Alot of that "webbing" is just to look cool.

Yea, I was wondering how much of it was essential, and how much was for hype and what not.. Kinda thought the same thing, I think the idea is cool, but didnt think about all the extra weight..

I'm tossing around the idea of buying them. Its not actually for looks. The system is essentially 2 subframe connectors linked together with a web of tubing. First off, for extremely lowered cars like myself, it gives a jacking point closer to the side of the vehicle for help getting the car up in the air. Second, you bet its going to add stiffness to the vehicle. Connecting the subframes of the car with 4 subframe connectors and then connecting them is adding quite a bit of strength I'd say. From my standpoint, I would rather add the weight for rigidity. The weight is probably equal to that of upgrading from stock wheels and tires to 18x9/10's with appropriate tire sizes. Plus, the weight of the subframe connectors is so low it might actually help stabilize the car.

Also cant wait for them to come out with the trans crossmember for our cars and driveshaft loop to make it one whole under-car system that fully connects the vehicle.

Teej, thats how I was looking at it to begin with. I'm not looking for a "Corner Carver" yet something that just feels nice and solid. I like how it seems all the stuff they're going to have in the future can easily be added to the previous systems they've offered.
I havent got my FLSFCs welded in yet, and they are just the AM ones I found on craigslist for a decent deal. I feel the unit would be pretty functional, especially once like you said, you can create the "entire undercar system".

This design has been around for a while, but not a whole lot of people use it. I think its a must on any convertible, like myself, and recommended to anyone that wants a really solid car without wanting to go with a cage. The cage is the ultimate, and I want one, but just not in the cards right now.

I'd like a cage, but at near stock power levels, I dont wanna get flamed. I think it would be a great "In Between Type of Thing". More rigidity, functionality, and you can save the interior space.
