What's wrong with me?
So I change exhaust setups like I friggin change my socks...
My 04 GT went through: -Stock H with rear cats removed and Reg Magnaflow CB(how I bought it.) -O/R X and Reg Magnaflow CB -O/R X and Magnapack CB -Catted X and Magnapack CB Then came the 03 Mach 1: -Catted H and MRT Max Thunder CB (still have CB) -Catted H and Magnapacks -Catted H and straight pipes -Catted H and SSS Adrenaline's (still have mufflers) -Catted H and SSS Terminators (current) Anyone else have this disease? I like my setup not of Catted H and Terminators of how raw sounding it can be but the interior noise is getting to me cruising windows up AC on for trips. My ideal exhaust is loud/raw sounding when you want it to be but interior drone is minimal...I have yet to find it. I even looked into Corsa mufflers as they claim "no drone technology" but they don't make a CB for New Edge's. The site only lists from 05+. My other route was sound deadening material...but still will be couple hundred to do it right. I know Purps (Rob) will chime in making fun of me hence the quote in my sig. |
Ya I know what you mean.
First it was : Catted h and bassani weld in mufflers Uncatted x with bassani weld ins Catted x with bassani weld ins Catted X with magnapack catback Catted X with full bassani catback I really like the sound of my setup now. Hopefully thats true after the 4v swap. |
LMFAO!! I'll need about an hour to map this all out lol
I'll chime in shortly... |
I love my exhaust now for the fact I was on the highway about 75 and lightly pressed the gass to keep speed up a hill and passed some lady in a suv with her windows down and I think I scared her LOL
But again...that drone and just level of exhaust noise is BUUUUUUGGGGHHHHHHHHH. I'm actually around 94dB cc set at 70 windows up no A.C on level highway and 103dB slightly under load going uphill. |
Instead of switching exhaust just dynamat your floor

I've been looking for tests/proof and not some done by joe shmo who don't know how to conduct a simple test and keeping things equal. People will say "I sound proofed my explorer and it's a lot better than my buddies stock explorer"... or A LOT of the time people do their trunks since thier thirty 10" subs are flexing it...not my goal lol |
holy **** and i thought i was bad lol
stock with flows stock h with SLP LM II's offroad H with LM II's offroad H with Flows Currently Kooks LT's, x pipe, borla stingers |
I've had the same exhaust since '05
loud, sometimes annoying, but I just deal with it. I can't justify buying, installing, taking off, selling, then buying, installing etc plus, you can't be making money that way either |
Mat the floor, we use some stuff at my shop (dont know the brand name) but its perfect. Little heavy if you want to do the whole car. But on a 68 camaro with flowmasters we did the back seat and tranny tunnel and firewall, and she was so nice. you could hear it but didnt have the drone and unless you were standing on it, it was ideal IMO.

I don't mind installing etc since it gives me something to tinker with. I usually find stuff cheap on craigslist or on forums to buy or trade. If I sell them I'm happy to make what I paid so it's as if I never bought them. I traded my reg magnaflow CB for the magnapacks, I bought the O/R X then ended up welding in high flow cats. I bought a stock CB and put it on the GT to sell and sold the magnapacks for $200. Mach 1 came with catted H and MRT CB. I bought SSS Adrenaline CB barely used for $275 on CL, then bought just Terminators for $75 on a forum. |
