Default 4.10s/tuner worth the money?

I have a 2000 gt auto thats stock besides o/r hpipe and exhaust. This is my DD so Im not going crazy with my car,but some added power would be nice. Would 4.10 gears and a tuner be worth the $800-1000 that il be spending lol

It will make a fairly substantial difference in the way the car performs. If you have the extra money, it's definitely worth it.

Yes it's worth it. Car will wind up much quicker then before and shifting will be faster/smoother.

It will make a pretty big difference!
You would definitely like the performance improvement.

Price you quoted sounds a little high if you wind up paying $1000 vs. $800. Spend some time looking into installation shops. Don't make the mistake of simply chosing a shop that charges the least, without first confirming that they have done a bunch of these gear installs.

...added power only in the sense of "butt" power. You'll only have quicker acceleration, no additional performance power. (Speaking about: Gears). Tuner will add a few ponies plus cuz you got a auto with firm up your shift points nice.

Yes, plus install will cost him ~$300 depending on where he lives and who he trusts to do this work. Even new parts are $544 at AM for the gear and tuner combo kit plus $300 install is only $844.

I have 3.73's W/ the auto, and there are quite a few times I wish I had done the 4.10's.. But I have intentions for boost in the near future. The 3.73s will get 'er done, but the 4.10s would definately be tons of fun, as long as you dont drive the highway for long periods on a routine basis. If you do it, do it right, buddy has a GT with the auto and 4.10s, it gets it pretty good when he hammers it.
