Default Eaton Supercharged 4.6 32v Build Thread

Well over the passed few months I have been accumulated many parts to assemble a new engine for my car. This is a budget build. Meaning any part I can get used at a good price that will work I am probably going to get.

I first bought a Eaton M122 supercharger off of a 2011 gt500 with 800 miles on it for $500. Came with all of the intake parts.

Then I got a block off modular fords for free. It was freshly machined .030" over and all I had to do was pay for shipping. Came with brandnew main bearings aswell.

I got a pair of '99 cobra heads for $200 off of corral. Need a valve job and valves. Im going to buy valves and springs from a ford gt from MMR and have a valve job done at a local head repair shop. Probably going to go with the popular 99-01 and 96-98 cobra cam swap because its cheap, and produces a few extra hp.

I got a forged crankshaft that just needs the journals polished for $260. Also got some forged Manley SVT connecting rods for $200 off of corral.

I got a 03-04 cobra intake manifold for $300 off of corral. I know the M122 supercharger wont mount upto it, but I plan on making an adapter plate out of 3/8" aluminum plate. Other big item I got was a brandnew LFP intercooler off of ebay for $340.

The timing cover was cheap for only $40 on ebay. I also just bought a meziere water pump off of corral yestarday.

Im sure I have forgotten a few odds and ends Ive gotten but thats the majority for now. Still need to get things like pistons and what not, but I can start making parts as soon as I decide on a harmonic balancer.

Any ideas or comments you guys may have are more then welcome.

Nice! Have you ever looked into a m122 on a 4.6 though? They make like 550 rwhp. Theres a guy on modular fords that makes an adapter kit. Just giving you some ideas!

Thanks for the compliments btw. It looks like Im going to be running a Innovators 8 rib 10% overdrive harmonic balancer that I hope to pick up on corral.

ive looked into it a little but in all honesty, im only looking for 450-500rwhp and 450-500rwft. i'll be sticking with a 9.5:1 cr and ive seen several 99-01 cobras with completly stock eatons hit 430-460 range with less than 10psi. ill have a little less cr buti can always pulley it up. i'll deffently be following this thread!

Well it looks like I am not going to do an 8 rib conversion, but go with a gt500 harmonic balancer. This means Ill be making a pulley bridge. I will also have to make brackets for all the accessories to clear the larger 10 rib pulley. More work then I intended, but itll be worth it.

One questin I have though is, are the alternators, air conditioning pumps power steering pumps the same from a 1996 mustang gt to a 2004? Theres a 1997 mustang gt at a local junkyard that i can get those parts off of to use for mockup.
