40k mile 96 gt!
Hey everyone, just purchased my first mustang, a 96 gt with only 41k miles. I moved from a 97 turboed eagle talon (with larger turbo and all supporting mods) to a stock 02 eclipse gt, finally to this abosolutely great maintained 96 gt. I was kinda dissapointed when i found out my 4.6 only puts down 215 to the rear wheels but its still an upgrade over the eclipse's factory rated 210hp which im sure equaled to about 160ish to the wheels. I plan on doing some basic mods soon and would like anyones opinions in my parts choice. My list will be done in a span of a few months and I'm hoping it will give me a decent gain(im not overally impressed with the stangs power atm) the list is long tube headers, o/r xpipe back into dual insynerator mufflers, cai and a programmer(thinking of a bama tune), and maybe some underdrive pulleys. I hear 4.10s are a popular upgrade but Im wanting to keep the stockers for the fuel mileage. Any advice/tips are welcome.

Welcome to MF! Just so you know a stock 96 gt puts down 215 at the crank. Maybe 190 to the wheel. With that in mind your mod list looks pretty good, but depending on how much you want to spend, you might want to consider a PI swap. The 4.10's are a great choice, and will barely affect your gas mileage. Also, nitrous can be done really cheap, and a decent used centrifugal blower can be picked up for around 2k.

congrats on your purchase! lets see some pics! depending on what you're trying to accomplish, the pi heads and 4.10's are def a good start. the stock npi heads are pretty obsolete, unless ported, polished, and have a big cam stuffed in them.
