Advantages/ Disadvantages of IRS..

no but the axles, hubs and thus wheels would need to be tilted at a 1 degree angle too. wouldnt that wear the differential funny since the axles would now be coming into the differential at 1 degree above parallel.

how though they say the 99-04gt is not IRS but suddenly the 31spline makes it IRS all the 31spline is is extra splines to make it harder to snap/break vs the 28spline right? Its the same axels as the 28spline so I'm confused here???? how is the 99-04 gt not IRS but both axels and rear is the same minus the 31spline lsd?????

If you're talking about just the differential itself, adding that will not make it an IRS. Adding the subframe and the differential housing and control arms as well as everything else from an 03 cobra rear makes it an IRS.

The SRA cannot be converted to IRS or at least not without the most major modifications you can imagine.

So I've read this entire thread and I am no closer to making a decision. I'll be making around 900hp and taking the car to the track occasionally. Will the IRS hold up to the punishment or am I going to have to swap it out for a "stick and wheels" ?

99 Cobra MMR 1000S 5.0 Stroker, MMR stage 3ported heads bronze guides SS valves, Hellion 76mm single turbo kit, turbo smart eBoost2 controller, AEM wideband kit, dual pump setup good to 1000hp, I am hoping to get right around 900hp out of this and from what MMR and Hellion tell me this won't be expecting too much out of this combo. Any help as far as the rear setup and suggestions would be appreciated.
