Default Could the edelbrock victor jr intake hurt performance on a stock bottom end FI car?

I have been trying to get some opinions from some tuner shops and i am getting people telling me that i cant run the intake untuned. And not only that but i am being told that it hurts the performance of a car that doesnt have head work. So would I not benefit from it?

There was a thread on this recently, and the guy made good power with it from like 4k on. Just a basic 99-04 Procharged gt. Pretty much like yours minus the cams.

It kind of has me interested now.

1. You can definitely run the manifold without a tune - of course your best gains will be with a tune but you will need a tune.

2. As long as you are running a high style plenum like the 6061, edelbrock, etc you should pick up a good gain. You also shouldnt lose much/if any down low

3. Dont forget you will need edelbrock/mmr rails

So you thinking if i get the adapter plate and run a stack racing plenum it wont do much? And in your 1st statement you think i need a tune? Or i do not?
