take a 5.0 auto and a gt500 to the track in stock form and the 5.0 will embarass the gt500. they spin too much.

I would take a 5.0 auto over any other mustang out right now. Even over the boss just because I wouldn't want the manual trans. I mean come on guys, a mustang gt that can get 500whp with bolt ons, stage 1 cams and lightly ported heads? Thats awesome!!!

Just wondering, why do you like the autos so much? half the fun in these cars is rowing through the gears....

part of it is i dont want to deal with any issues like the manuals are having. also I'm lazy, and I have horrible hand-foot coordination, my '95 was a few tenths slower than it should have been because i couldn't shift it fast enough. plus i like how easy the auto's are on the rest of the car. I mean next time i go to the strip i'm launching on a 125 shot with a stock rear, this would be a breaking point if i had a manual.

what was the trade in value of your current mustang? the new 5.0's are sweet, but I am worried about the MT82 trans.
