Default Do or don't resurface the flywheel?

Hey guys,

I finally have shuffled around and got enough $$$ to buy a rebuilt transmission for the Cobra. Since I'm gonna be in there I figured I might as well go on and replace the clutch, so I bought a Spec Stage 2 from American Muscle and got it in today. I have a quick question before I put her back together; should I have the flywheel resurfaced or should it be alright? I put a straight edge across it and it doesn't look like it has any pits or bumps on it. The only thing I could see is that it looks like it's got a couple hot spots on it. If I do need to get it resurfaced, should a regular machine shop be able to take care of it?

Thanks alot fellas!

Alright, I had a feeling that it would be best to have it resurfaced but I just wanted to check. Thanks for your help!

Resurface or buy a new one, your choice.

Make sure there is enough friction material on the original to be resurfaced before you pay someone to resurface it for you!

Good luck, OP!

Let me know if you have any questions in the future!

Thanks alot guys! Got the flywheel resurfaced yesterday and put it back on the car along with a new pilot bearing and clutch. Suprisingly, it was only $35. Now just waiting on the transmission to show up and she'll be back on the road!
