I'm not sure what that popping noise is. I can't remember if mine makes a noise. I think mine clicks when it gets low to the firewall. It seems normal though. I mean i doubt you can hear it clicking while you are driving...?

Does it drive fine? All the gears shift smooth and pull without the rpm's slipping?

Oh and in your signature, your wheels aren't "drag bullitt rims" -- They are Deep Dish Bullitt's. Any wheel that weighs as much as the 10.5" bullitts is NOT a drag rim lol. And your tires are only drag if they say nitto 555R on them. If they are just the Nitto555 then they aren't the stickier rubber...

I'm pretty sure mine makes the same noise... don't think it's that loud though. As long as it's not slipping or something I wouldn't worry about it.

Ya it doesn't slip or anything but its so ****ing annoying when I'm goin into first gear.. And HP ya thanks for the signature corrections.

It sounds to me like either the TOB binding on the release lever or guide sleeve, or possibly the lever popping around on the pivot ball...
