oh ya, iv been reading. figured id leave all the good questions to you
still trying to figure out if id pass inspection in texas with long tubes and if i could fit cats

Where in Tx are you at? If you're in one of the metro areas (DFW, ATX, Htown, SA) you may have a bit of an issue on inspection, even with cats. Anywhere else, you should be fine. You can definitely run some high-flow cats with longtubes, no issue there.

from Houston. i just learned you can get a mid pipe with HF cats that fit long tubes, correct?

Yes, I would not at all considering going cat-less. High flow cats, like the the ones in the BBK h-pipe I suggested to you should be more than adequate to get you down to acceptable NoX levels and have you passing emissions. Either that, or you can just cut the stock cats out of your stock exhaust and clamp or weld them in place of the BBK units. This would definitely get you passing with no problems!
