Deleting catback. Will CEL come on?

Arrow Deleting catback. Will CEL come on?

I want to drop the exhaust i have and polish it myself. I was wondering if i drive the car around without the catback, will the check engine light come on.

COOL. I wanted to save my money and learn how to polish metals. I shall save my extra money towards my suspension. ;]

You do realise it is going to be LOUD as heck, right? In CA I'd be more concerned about getting pulled over for a CARB violation than the CEL...

Yea I do realize that. I'm just concerned in case of emergency or if I HAVE TO move the car if it will cause future headaches later. Since you mentioned a loud motor, cops here have not pulled over many muscle cars....mostly because most of them are military, as am I so I haven't Brent pulled over. Lucky me, so I've never had to worry much about cops, although I do have to constantly roll the windows down due to my heavy tint.

Do you have a stock catback? You won't get it out without cutting it or takin out your rear end.

Yeah its stock. I plan to cut it. Then weld it back on once I tackle the polishing job.

I got my stocker out without cutting it. Just unbolt the shocks/quad shocks and wiggle the axle and it'll come out.

That seems like too much work. I don't have my own driveway/garage so my options of doing things are limited.
