can anyone compare the driving experience to a 99-04 GT? Is it simply much better in every respect?

I haven't driven one yet, but I have ridden in one and know several guys that have them... and YES, they are better in every way than our New Edge ponys.

times change just like IMO the New edge feels more comfortable and seem to have a better ride than the old fox body's. And it has to be taken into consideration that the age of the platform of the older cars vs the new ones. After time thinkgs will chane a bit even though they still have the LRA in the rear. being that my car has been paid off for years and have an almos bottomless pit of aftermarket parts to add to it its a sports car to me i really dont expect it to ride like my wifes bonneville so therefore the cost would keep me from trading. Im sure the ride is lovely compared to the 99-04s and we all know the power is there but the sticker price and payments, and it being the banks for that many years would all be taken into consideration and give me serious pause. To each is own though.

More HP / luxury comes higher cost to consumer. Low 20K's for a GT is affordable but now when there low to mid 30K's.... and mostly a "toy" to guys and gals it's expensive. Not pocket change for sure. Im just chopping at the bit for the new design and what it all has with it.

I think they are great cars TBH. Maybe I am just spoiled by my car, but I was honestly underwhelmed when I drove one. Interior is 10x better, but the power just was underwhelming. Probably because I have a full suspension supercharged car and I am just used to the power. Over a stock 99-04 GT though these cars are worlds better.

Lol with a 11second new edge you would feel underwhelmed test driving one of those.

LOL
I guess it would be nice to be underwhelmed by a new 5.0.

In all actuality though, a stock 5.0 with 3.73 optional ratio will run low 12's with just DRs. That is pretty impressive for a car that is very good in all other categories as well. I bet it wouldn't take a whole lot of mods to get it to run 11.7's and still be a very nice DD. A blower on that motor would easily get you down to 11 flat, and still be a very nice DD.
