Default S197 ride quality vs New Edge ride quality

I'm curious if the S197 ride quality is a lot better than the New Edge ride quality?

Everyone says how great the 2011+ GTs handle and how much improved the ride quality is in comparison to later years. I'm curious if it's that kind of improvement going from a New Edge to a S197.

it is. my dad has a '07 gt premium and i've had to take it to work a few times to get service done on it. it's all around a much better car. dash looks better, seats feel better(and they're heated which rocks lol), steering feels more crisp and firm and the ride quality itself is much improved. I would have one if they weren't as expensive as they are.

Sounds like I need to go drive one. Sucks New Edges can't have the ride quality of the newer Mustangs.

FROM THE FACTORY the S197's have a very nice ride do to the 3-link design in the rear, but once you mod an SN95 itll handle better due to the fact that an S197 will NEVER be as light as an SN95...

also keep in mind the price difference between the 2 body styles...

I've got D-specs on my car and maybe I don't have the adjustments correct but it didn't improve ride quality.

Are they too soft or too firm? I'm running bilsteins and the ride is pretty stiff.

Well I replaced my 140k stock shocks and struts with them and they don't feel any different. I can feel every bump and crack in the road. I'm assuming that's too firm...?

Depends, if I went with a softer spring my car rides much better than an s197. Stock vs stock s197's are gonna ride better due to their tri link setup.

Also, s197's are gonna ride better due to most car owners neglecting to replace worn shocks/struts/springs and the new edge's are no exception.

From my own experience (worked at a rental car company so I have driven my fair share of rental mustangs) the terminator rides better stock for stock.

+1

Compared to the New Edges/SN95, the S197 is more "refined", but will never handle as well as a New Edge/SN95 because of the weight. My dad likes my New Edge more than his '07 California Special. Of course if I could convince him to M90 it, he'd probably like his better...
