Me being 38 years old (and climbing fast), I am trapped in the "Old School" era (69 Boss 429, COPO 427 Camaro, 70 1/2 Split front bumper Camaro, etc) Call me old fashioned, but I find it hard to like these newer "tuner" looking body kits. However, to each is own...
Your taste in looks is pretty good, but the beauty about owning a mustang is that there are many ways to modify the car without it looking cheesy. The OP's idea's on what to do with the rear aren't bad ones and far from ricer/tuner looking. I'm sure my car would be what you would consider rice/tuner even though the spoiler/wing as well as the 01-04 wing/spoiler is more functional than the cobra's ducktail/wing/spoiler.

Sorry if it seems like I'm bashing your tastes or calling you old fashioned as I think your idea of how you're going to mod your car is going to look awesome. I just didn't like the whole, "thats rice" "thats not a spoiler, thats a wing comments" since the only wing in the conversation is the termi wing/saleen wing(although I've yet to find any tests regarding it's functionality) . The steeda/01-04 spoiler/agent 47 spoiler/roush spoiler/tiger racing/cobra r spoiler are actually functional (a few of those I can't seem to remember where I put the link regarding their wind tunnel tests)

That depresses me :\ But if you drove around the town 10 minutes from me you'd see **** like that on a daily basis.. I saw a lifted stang with 24" spinners on it... ugly as sin.

Yeah, the "looks rice" comment was a little harsh. I rolled with my factory wing/spoiler the first 3-4 years of ownership. I never thought it looked rice. Just something deep down in this old school mind of mine kept seeing it as a wing and had to change it. As for functionality, I don't think any of the factory wing/spoilers have much effect until you're pushing real high speeds, 100+? Which my car hasn't seen but once. About a year after owning, I hit a 10 mile stretch of straight country road, daytime, and decided to try a "top speed" run. Was the only time I ever really "let her have it".

Got a GPS confirmed 146mph before I chickened out and backed off. And this was completely stock except for a drop in K&N air filter. Was slow climbing once I hit 5th though. Fast enough for me...lol

Now this is my 03-04 "Cobra" spoiler. It's a fiberglass replica I bought off eBay for $170 bucks. Thus no third brake light. Although, I like it better like that. More old school.

Don't have any pictures uploaded here on my laptop. Only got what I have on youtube. Someone else will have to get you a Saleen spoiler picture. Hope this helps...
