Default A few supercharger questions

So I'm getting a gt and my goal is to squeeze about 350hp out of it, I just want something that is faster than a lot of cars on the street. Most of the ones around here put out about 300hp. With bolt ons and a nice tune I could bring it up to 300hp, and I'm sure if I wanted to spend a crap load of more money I could get up to 350hp. But I found a local junk yard where I could rip a supercharger from a cobra for $200. Now from what I understand if I keep my engine stock, I can run that supercharger on there with a nice tune and not hit more than 6,000rpm's and I should be ok? Or is that still too much?

I was also wondering how much that would kill my mpg? I'm moving colleges and will be doing some high way driving and I really don't want to be only getting 20mph to the gallon on highway. Would I be able to get a tune that will help my mpg instead of my horsepower just for those drives?

if its a m112 from a cobra then theres not much i can tell you. Youre gonna need a lot of parts to make that supercharger work on your car though, it would probably be cheaper to do the "$1500 Vortech Build" Again im not totally sure though. You can look up a company called Tork Tech, they sell kits to make those superchargers work on GT's. Good Luck

Well, I would buy most the parts used since the mustang I will get will have probably around 100K miles on it. No sense in buying all that new for a half dead engine. Like the cobra intake, injectors, MAF, and fuel pump. But I'll look into it all!

You will pretty much need everything from the headgaskets up to put a M112 on it.

Better off buying a used hair drier. 12#'s will get you where you want to be.

Throttle in a bottle! Nitrous 75 wet shot basic kit $500-$600, don't even need a tune.

I've always been iffy to boost a stock engine with nitrous, I've seen 3 engines blow due to nos.

Just curious what year cobra is it off of.If it's off a 96-98 that would be less hassle than a new edge cobra.Am I correct in assuming this or doesn't it matter?

You have seen 3 engines blow up due to the idiots setting them up that are to cheap to put a $100 window switch on. I put probably 100 lbs of nitrous through mine so far up to a 130 shot problem free on a bone stock 2V with 80,000 miles and 200 track passes on it.
