Not surprised that the Dodge beat you, but am a little surprised about the Firebird..Unfortunately, A pretty much stock Mustang is slow by todays standards. That Dodge can run high 12's - 13.2. I used to beat them pretty bad stoplight to stoplight when I was at 425 rwhp, your gonna need a blower to beat one of those Dodges, and 373's.

Keep in mind that you NEVER know what the guy beside you at the light has in his car. Every car you run into may have mods done to them.
I have a buddy with a G8GT that looks and sounds completely stock, but it runs 11.5@124mph all day long on his street tires(no DRs). Many guys on this forum would be embarrassed if they ran into him on the street.
Without knowing exactly what you just got beat by, you can't really assess whether you are slow or not. Take the car to the track and race where it is safe and the time is what counts.

The '96 4.6L V8 Mustang GT in stock form only had 215hp.
That's the same power my 1999 Mountaineer 5.0 v8 puts out, hardly a muscle car, however...... There's tons of 4.6L upgrades out there and gear options for your rear end.

that guy couldn't drive then! on the street, my srt8 magum completly stock by the way, can launch really well if done right. from a roll, hold on cause it pulls like a train for a car almost 5000 lbs!
