Default 255/35/18 Run flats on 2004 gt????

This guy is selling me 255/35/18 Birdgestone Potenza RE050 Run flats for $120 for a set of 4. The tread is half way done but they look nice. I currently have 255/35/18 Pzero Neros on right now. The only problem is the run flats have a treadwear of 140. My current treadwear is 220.

1. Should I buy these tires?
2. Is the steering response going to change?
3. Is the tread going to wear down ridiculously fast?
4. How are these tires in the cornors compared to my current ones?

Here's the link to them new:

I have those in that size on the front of mine right now. I love them. For me, they are tons better than the P Zeroes. I've had no issues with faster that normal treat wear. Very quite for a performance tire, great on dry and very good in wet as well. (I put over 100 miles a day on mine driving to and from work.)

Just beware they are only true 'run flat' if you run the sensors on the wheel. They'll only give you about 40 miles once they lose pressure. So you need to know if they are losing it to take advantage. I don't care about the 'run flat' part, so I skipped the sensor junk.

Do you have the ones with the 140 treadwear? How are you doing 100 miles a day and they havn't worn out yet?

RE050A is what I've got. They're holding up just fine for me. I have no complaints at all.

My friend said run flats make his ride a lot harder on his bimmer. I don't know if that helps you make significant choice.

They aren't any more than the BFG KDW I had up front in the same size.

Lilroush, How many miles do you have on yours and how much tread do you have left?
