auburn locker, how much can it hold?

I have the opportunity to pick up an auburn locker from a guy at work, used in good shape for very cheap. just curious how much power this could support as it's still 28 spline. If it can handle around 500 or so from an auto I'll throw it in my car. if not i'm gonna try and sell it for the guy. obviously i know i'll need upgraded axles but just curious about the diff itself.

Based upon what I have read the Auburns don't hold up like Eaton lockers do. Ive personally come across multiple setups that blew an Auburn locker to pieces but are running fine with an Eaton locker. The cream of the crop seems to be cryo-treated Eaton lockers. There are many of those out there holding much more power than you are making for a long time. If theres one thing I live by with my car its do things right the first time.

Sell it. Your axles are typically what will snap anyway. If you are going to upgrade just go 31 spline.

I personally can stand lockers, id opt to just run a spool over a locker and day. The car is gonna bang hard on engange and disengages around corners and just make for a horrible street ride, go with a spool as long as u dont plan on smashin turns hard. And ive had and driven plenty of lockers, from auburn to the good ole detroit, the only thing i think they belong on is offroad 4x4
