I hope so. He was smart enough to ensure that the Shelby name would live on after he was gone. At 89, he lived a long life (and was one of the longest living heart transplant patients). He was a tough old bird! God Speed Mr. Shelby.
You're correct. He was actually the longest surviving heart transplant recipient to date. And I think he's had multiple if my memory serves me correctly. We knew it was getting bad when owners that had sent in their parts and memorabilia in for Carroll to sign were getting full refunds for what they had paid for and their parts returned to them without signatures.
