Default 97 cobra HP

hey there guys i have a 97 cobra and i have twin 62 mm TB, i had no exhaust done besides the buffles cut out and welding a pipe in place , short shifter and a BAMA Performance SCT tune in it but when i dyno the car it only put down 232 hp and 242 TQ and id doesnt feel like it pulls like is supposed to this is my first cobra and it has 53k miles on her could anyone tell if something could be wrong or if those numbers sound about right ..and i just installed some bbk x pipes and flowmaster 40 series and retuned it with the same BAMA SCT tunner and havent taken it to the dyno yet ..thanks fellas for all the help.

I'd bet your IMRC's aren't opening, they seem to have a fairly high rate of failure as the car ages.

what exactly is that and how would i fix that problem..and what does it stand for i was told once but i cant seem to remember.

+1 to the IMRC's.

They block off some of the intake ports to increase port velocity at lower engine speeds, helps with low speed torque. They are just little butterflies that slap shut below 3250RPM and open above. Usually they get gummed up. One way of fixing them is seafoam, another is to take the intake off and clean them.

i tried that seafoam but i only used the one for the gas idk how toput it on the rest of the car do you know by any chance and could you explain it to me if so.

Should be directions on the can. Basically start the car, disconnect a vacuum hose that goes to the intake, then suck the seafoam in, try not to let it die until you get the recommended amount in. Once it's in, you kill the car and let it sit for about 20 minutes. Then you start it up and prepare for the smoke show.

I personally don't care for seafoam, but you can put it in slowly through the PCV line.

The right way to fix this problem would be to take the intake off and clean them away from the engine, or get rid of them all together.

IMRC = Intake Manifold Runner Controls, I believe.....

They look like this (Maybe aluminum for you:

so what do i need to do after i delete them ? do i have to tune the car ad is the check engine going to come on any sensors or plugs of any type ? thanks .
