Default 2V oil pump.

How many HP is the stock oil pump good for? Curious if I should spring for a melling on the build I'm doing or if a quality stock one will be ok. Shooting for 475ish RWHP.

Get billet steel internals for the stock pump.

I run a stock Cobra HO unit and I'll be 550-600rwhp through an auto but only spin mine to 6500 rpms. You can get the cobra units for $50

97, where do I find one of these cobra units? and do they use the same pickup tube? I'm looking at mildly ported heads, and cms stage 2.5 blower cams. so I will be right around 6500 RPM.

If I remember correctly you will need a 15/16 pickup tube.

It looks like they went up like $20, but nothing crazy

bpohlman posted a nice link and for $70 you get pump and pickup tube

Do these the pumps come stock on the 96-98 Cobra too where they push more revs than the GT's?

The stock HO pump still has the crap powdered metal internals. And if it is going to be abused do it once.
