Mods to do with $4000?

I might have acctually $8000. I am basically getting a personal loan against the car that I am paying off within a year.
I don't want to sell the car because it was my uncles who passed away and so it has sentimental value and we are keeping it in the family.
What I have decided to do is go with a Vortech, 4.10 gears/tuner, and see what I have left after that.

Cams, vortech, gears, jmod vb, stall, bolt ons and a tune. After seeing what's left do suspension mods and a tire to put the power to the ground. Power is useless without traction.

People like this come on here say they have thousands of dollars and ask what to spend it on. I have yet to see one actually follow through with doing any of the mods suggested.
If I ever said I was going to take out a loan to mod my car I hope someone would let me know how stupid it was.

First thing:
WELCOME!
Second thing:
Sorry to hear about your unlce. It is nice to hear that you are keeping the car as a tribute to him and fixing it up.
Third thing:
I am probably one of the older members here and have to say that taking out a line of credit to mod a car is probably not the best idea. I have got close to $7000 wrapped up in mine, but it is all paid for. Took me a couple of years, but I know I don't owe anyone a dime. If you have the means of paying off the loan in a year then you have the means of saving up that kind of cash or just start piecing things together and once you have what you need build it. This will save you tons in just finance charges, especially if you are taking out a loan. I am sure you are excited to get it done as most of us where when we started, but the $8000 loan you take out is going to cost you more in the long run.
This is just my 2 cents. Enjoy the car and keep us posted if you do decide to go along with your plans.
