antifreeze miky white
Hi everyone
new to the site and first mustang. just brought this used 1996 mustang GT . Top radiator hose sprung a leak. So i changed it,while i was at it i changed the thermostat and flushed the engine. Put 50/50 fluid back in. after driving it for a couple days i checked the fluid and found it to be milky white and greasy . Transmission fluid dark. What can cause this. Oil look normal. had the car for a month.

Is the car auto or manual? How many miles are on it? Does the oil look the same way?
It's not very likely but you could get lucky and find out that it's only the trans cooler in the radiator that sprung a leak.

What he said ^
The trans cooler (if auto) could have popped internally, or the oil cooler/oil filter housing gasket on the side of the motor is leaking one fluid into the other
dont condemn the headgasket until you verify the other components

One quick way to tell if you have oil in your water. Let the car sit for a day or two. If you are lucky, the oil will seperate back out and be at the top of the radiator (doesn't always work, sometimes the oil will pool somewhere internally). Pull the cap and see what you see. If you think it's the head gasket, do the same thing with the oil pan. If the car has been sitting, pull the pan plug, if water comes out first, it's the head.
