Default Thoughts on my 1/4 times

Took my 2003 mustang gt(34,000 miles) to the track for my first ever experience.

My car
stick, custome tune(lidio), headers, CAI, 3.73, Throttle and plenum, cam

I had a very hard time hooking up on my stock tires(original that came with car)

Best run avg run
60ft 2.245 2.3
1/8 9.284 9.4
1/8 speed 80.15 79
1/4 14.082 14.25
1/4 speed 100.62 100

what do you think?

seems pretty normal for your first time at the track. get that 60' time down and it will be even better

trap speed is way down for a stick car with those mods, what kind of cams? I'm very against lidio's tunes, but i feel like even he should have been able to make more power than that. how were your shift times?

i really had a hard time with any traction in first or second.(tires?)

I was behind everyone before 1/8, but pulled past most after that.

If your on street tires then don't do a pre warm up .. just go to the line and run it as warming up street tires is like driving on ice..

i understand the street tires and bad e/t's. but traction does not effect your trap speed like it does e/t. it has little to no effect. with a car that made that much power you should be in the 108/109 mph area.

As long as you had a blast. Thats the most important outcome. ETs come with experience. Its very difficult to get a good 60ft with street tires. Get some DR's and drive it like you stole it and your times will drop a lot.

Sounds like you did a lot of spinning, definitely A LOT more in the car with some better tires and 60 foot.
