Default I got a mustang and have $4000 to put into it.

I just recently got a 1999 Mustang Gt, its a manual and completely stock. Got it for $7400 with 45,000 miles on it. I need help on deciding what to do to it, keep in mind budget of $4000 and I'm looking for all around, like performance, handling, sound, and aesthetics. Post pics of your cars too, i could use the ideas!!!

I'm not sure but i think the 99 had the NPI engine so you could start with finding PI heads and intake which shouldn't cost much and have them freshed up and go ahead and drop some stage 1 cams in there also.. BAMA tuner and flowmaster would be next.. but just IMO.

Id start with exhaust. headers, mid pipe ( x or h) i prefer h pipe personally. either magnaflow borla mac bassani etc etc... also be a good idea check youtube out as they have tons of videos of different exhaust set ups. Then cold air intake, tune, throttle body. and should still have some money to do lowering springs. maybe a mach one chin spoiler for appearance but thats really on your preference.

Gears, Springs (lower that beast), Mach 1 chin spoiler and grille delete, exhaust, wheels and tires, shorty antenna, headlights if you need them. But with $4k, I'd put some more into the motor too.

Here's mine with all the above except wheels.

if you dont have emissions testing go with offroad/catless midpipe and a cat back. look at youtube videos, theres lots of sound clips there. 4000 isnt a lot to do all you want at once. as far as other bolt ons, they dont gain much compared to price. if you want more power to dollar, try the $1500 vortech build. its more like 2000-2500 after all said and done though

Nice car!!! I like the suggestions I was thinking about the stingers and from what I saw on youtube they were amazing.... A question about the gears, dont they destroy gas mileage? Or am I just ill informed?
