I need to replace the shifter center console trim bezel (the one with the cigarrete lighter) in my 1996 Mustang GT because the original is damage and according to my co-worker they are all interchangeable between the years 1994 and 2004 models. Can somebody or anybody confirm this because I'm not sure if he's correct or not? Thank you.

He right except that 94-98 had black as an optional interior and 99-04 had dark charcoal A.K.A Grey. Physically they are interchangable though.

Thank you very much, really appreciate your response regarding the fitting and specially the one about the colors. I need the original '96 BLACK, don't want to mix colors.

Why buy it new?....Not sure where can you get one but I found mine on eBay at a very affordable price and it looks like brand new, you can't even tell is used.

I have bought 2 on ebay. Both of which the prongs on the bottom were broken,which is why im replacing it in the first place

I guess you choosed a bad seller because the seller I purchased it from "overboostedperformance" (eBay seller's name) it's almost brand new. Good luck trying to find a new one, they're probably very scarce just like trying to find a new Under Hood Replacement Insulators for my 1996 Mustang.
