Default Planning on buying a new edge gt soon.

Hey guys like the title says I am planning on buying a gt within the next couple months. I do plan on modding, but not too extensively. My first mods I plan on doing are 4.10 gears, cai intake and a tune. I was wondering if that would get me into the high 13 sec range. Also I was thinking of going with sct tuner with the bama tunes and was wondering if the 3 tunes it comes with are preloaded or custom.

Great choice!

Any GT from 99-04 with 4.10s, intake, exhaust and a Bama tune is definitely headed for the 13's pretty easily! Let me know if you need any assistance!

Hey thanks for the response. Do you think I should install the gears first or go with the cai/sct tuner combo with the 3 bama tunes first?

Most definitely Gears first.. following a tuner so you can calibrate the speedo for the difference with the 4.10s.

Thanks for the info. Do you think that those mods will wake up the car or should I think about adding maybe an x-pipe or new throttle body? Also I see you have 4.10s did they make a noticible difference in accleration?

Gears, exhaust, shifter, and some suspension mods should be the first mods. You can PM Dan from American Muscle some good deals.

You're gonna need the tuner to correct your speedo from the gears so I say either get the gears and tuner at the same time, or get the tuner first so that your mileage will read right. Also don't worry about getting a cai, they dont do anything performance wise for our cars, unless you want one for looks. I think you'll be pretty happy if you buy a midpipe and catback for sound

American Muscle sells a Tuner/Gears combo kit which saves you some money.

Also, message them here and you can get a forum discount.
