Default Insurance questions..

Hey everybody, i have a couple questions regarding insuring a car. I live in NY state and since im young, getting car insurance for a mustang is going to KILL me. Anyways, im looking into a 2003 cobra and ive been quoted a rate of around $500 a month (I work full time at a steady job and i can make it but its incredibly high). Is there any tricks to get around this? Can i have the title in my name and go on my parents insurance since they are older, and then pay them the difference? Or can for instance me and my dad be on the same policy for that car and i can get a cheaper rate?

Any info on this would be great, im dying for a cobra.. Its just the insurance would be more than my car payment, thats just ridiculous. Anyways, thanks for replies ahead of time!

for an 03? Seems a bit high. Did you just call one insurance company? Call around. State Farm has always been good to me, but I'm not young either.

ive done all online quotes. statefarm i believe was the second highest. i think they wanted 570 a month. One company wanted damn near 700 a month. I actually laughed my *** off! who could pay that?!

Im checking that out soon. I have to, i make about $1,200 a month and my car payment im looking at will be about 300 a month. Im trying to keep insurance within 300-400 bucks a month if possible. If i can do it, i think ill end up with my cobra. Theres got to be a way to get me a lower rate

I forget how expensive Insurance was when I was a teenager.

Hell, even my 2008 CBR600RR only costs me $130/year to insure.

wow. Dont mind me asking but how old are you? and yeah thats not bad, some companies are trying to soak $6,000 a year off me! my dad has 3 cars on his plan, one being a 2010 GT convert and he only pays like $2,500 a year for full coverage bumper to bumper!

Insurance is based on more than just the car. They also base it on you (IE: your credit score). That car, a young age, your location and your credit score (or lack there of at a young age).
