Default How long do you think my trans will last? :)

So my tuner, and a few shops locally have said they think my build will be ok for the "stock" 4r70w in my car.. However, my gut makes me worry..What have you guys put your 4r70 through before it called it quits? How bad did it call it quits? Build is 11:1 CR, mildly ported heads, CMS stage 2.5 NA cams, LTs, full bolt-ons, and a 150 shot via an NX plate kit. Trans will have a cooler, aftermarket stall, and either a shift kit, or a JMOD. Shooting for roughly 460-480RWHP.

I think you'll be more than alright.. Those trannys are pretty stout and can handle quite a bit of torque. And especially since your off the bottle power torque wont be very high. I can see if you were tracking and spraying consistentely every week for multiple runs you might have an issue.

Car will be a garage queen... but when its driven, itll be either tracked, or at car shows.

I wouldn't worry about it man.. There's peeps out there running boost on those trannys with no issues.

yup no issues there. just dont take it over 6k unless you do a spiral ring retainer. if you have yet to do the converter, then when the trans is out it will take an extra 15 minutes to put in that retainer and otherwise you wont get to use all the power/rpm from those cams. it's also a very cheap part.

other than that, with a good cooler and the valve body upgrades/converter you will be a ok!

to be honest i liked my transgo kit over the dd one, the dd one has a much more lagged 1-2 shift which kept making me hit the limiter especially when i sprayed it. as far as the spiral ring retainer here you go:

http://www.transmissionpartsusa.com/...-0076554rk.htm

all you have to do to get to that is pull the pump out and it's right on top.
