Well this is my take on it. It is what it is. cars very much are their own characters but they are gonna take what they take period. In my opinion in what ive seen, a car built on wed. (so to speak) with parts made by people on a wed. are going to be the best you can get. But there is no way to really know, until it breaks. sure you can baby a car to lasting a long time, but pure luck in build quality is really what gets you there. Me personally i bought my car with 82k and a spun rod bearing, of course i didnt know that when i bought it figured it out 3 weeks later when i was recharging the ac system. But i drove the **** out of it, had the rod bearings replaced for 750 bucks, beat the hell out of it for another 20ish thousand miles, spun another bearing at the track racing on low oil. Then drove it 5k miles with the bad bearing, beating the hell out of it, before i finally rebuilt it. I got mad respect for a car that takes that kind of abuse haha. I got mostly lucky i think. nothing ever broke that left me stranded or staring at a big bill without time to save for it.

edit: an example of how i drive. shift at 6k always have. powershift all the time, meaning i may shift at 6 but i wouldnt be surprised if that motor saw 6300 or better every time i did that. and then of course lots of power sliding eheh

Insane. Most of my driving is highway, I do rip on the car sometimes but I NEVER powershift or powerslide or beat the hell out of the car in anyway. My friend says I drive like a grandma. I'm not that bad but you get the point. No reason this car should have blown. Needless to say the rod and what was left of the piston that wasn't fairy dust, is now hanging in my garage on the wall of shame. All that being said, I love Ford products and will most likely never buy anything but. A freak blown engine will never stop me or discourage me from buying a certain manufacturer again.

Pretty much what you said. S**t happens. The cars Ive had the Ive beat on seem to actually last longer mechanically than the ones I've babied. Doesn't make sense...but that's been my experience.

I'll make a thread shortly, the new engine is in, just some fine tuning and maybe a new dyno tune and I'll get some info up. I'm actually not even sure what heads or cams are in the car. But they're not stock. I bought a used engine and the kid still has not sent me receipts for anything and doesn't know what it was. Said he got most of the stuff from summit racing.

All I know about the heads are they're Trickflow Twisted Wedge heads and he said it's got stage 1 cams. I see a 38 on them so I know they're 38cc heads and he said he THINKS they're 195's but doesn't remember. I checked all the numbers on the heads and I can't find anything that tells me the size. Basically the engine has every possible N/A mod you can do to a 4.6 mod motor. Should be a solid 400HP at the crank.
