97 GT power adders?

I'm looking for some cheap but effective power adders to do on my 97 GT with the 4.6. I'm still in high school so I'm trying to keep it Fairly cheap but I would like to get the car to be pushing some where around 350 to 400 rwhp I've already been looking at doing little stuff such as cold air, coil packs, pulley swap, headers, and possibly a small dry shot of nitrous. Any other suggestions?

I have already don't the cold air intake. I also switched out the stock rear gears for 3:73's

you wont get 400rwh without sending 2-3 grand. unless you go with a nitrous kit. first thing is a PI swap or Mark VIII swap though. google it you'll learn tons

Mark VIII swap will get you a good power boost for cheap, provided you can do your own work and be without a car for a weekend. PI swap is another option. Getting to 300 RWP with a bolt on 4V engine is doable. Getting to 350-400 isn't going to be cheap, unless you go nitrous in combination with one of the above swaps.

Yeah I have been looking into doing a mark VIII switch in it. But I have also been thinking about maybe just a 5.0 swap in it what do u think would be better. And what ever we decide to do we will do our selves so I won't have any labor expenses to pay but would y'all recommend doing nitrous on a Dailey driver? And if so how much of a shot could I do with out putting the engine in to much jeopardy?

Is the PI swap the same thing as doing a conversion from the 2V 4.6 gt engine to the DOHC cobra?

No, they are not the same.

I'm going to try to say this without sounding like a d!(k. You sound like you are very green when it comes to cars, at least with Mustangs. I know that we all start somewhere but most of us don't start off, with no little knowledge of the vehicle, wanting 350-400 rwhp and wanting to do it for cheap. The sad truth is that it won't be cheap, especially with a non-pi 4.6 liter 2 valve (which is what you have). If you can't turn a wrench and don't know a lot about your car, it will cost you even more! I can pretty much promise you that the second you walk into a shop to get work done and they know that you don't know a lot about your car, they will take advantage of you. In other words, learn to walk before you try to run and end up on your face.

How old are you and how much driving experience do you have and why do you want 350-400 rwhp? If you had to guess (by the seat of your pants, not by searching), how much rwhp do you think you have now?

Supercharger, cheapest in the long run
Been there
