Default possible fire hazard?

I pulled the intake on my 98 gt and noticed the back line between the fuel rails had a gap in it like from either vibration or heat from the metal line that goes to the throttle body (egr line ?) This appears to be a fire hazard if the line was to burst and spray fuel everywhere. I'm glad I found this "Check Yours"!!!. But I do have a question or two also. Can the lines between the fuel rails be just regular rubber fuel lines connected with clamps or should they be something more factory because the front one on mine has been replaced with a rubber line with clamps and the rear looks factory (feels more plastic like)not very flexible with no clamps. How do they stay on and not leak?

Nope, need new factory fuel rail setup.

Ford, professional products, and BBK all make them. Not sure if the fuel rail changes between PI and non PI though so double check. Just curious what do you mean a "gap."

I've got a set off my 2000 GT. Not sure if it's he same though. Shoot me a PM if you want it. But to answer your original post, anything related to possible fuel on the exhaust I say better to be safe than sorry. A cheap fuel line could cost you your entire car.

The fuel line itself has a gap gone from it like its been melted or maybe vibration caused it. The gap in the line is almost all the way through to the inside. The nylon wrap in the middle of the rubber is visible. Looks like maybe the steel line that mounts on the side of the throttle body (EGR LINE maybe)??is the blame for this.
I just wanted to let everyone know about this. Could be a problem on other members cars as well.? Hate to hear of someone loosing their pride and joy because of something so simple.
